The letter below was sent by Ray Chadwick, Treasurer for our Bedford Republican Committee, to NH Congressman (CD-1) Chris Pappas.
We encourage everyone to act now and make their voices hear loud and clear, the same way Ray has done. Contact Pappas ( https://pappas.house.gov/contact ) and register your opposition to 1) this Bill, 2) the intimidation policies and tactics of the DOJ, and 3) Federal over-reach. Feel free to adapt and use the letter to register your views. These are unprecedented times. We must stop the damage the Democrats are doing.

Representative Pappas:
The US Senate just passed H.R 5376, which includes higher taxes on fuels and a corporate minimum tax, impacting those struggling with higher costs (aka: inflation) for fuel and products. Also, it would fund an additional 87,000 IRS agents, doubling the size of the IRS.
Last night we heard of heavily armed FBI agents invading the home of a private citizen (and former President) who is a critic of the current administration. News reports attribute the raid to issues arising under the Presidential Records Act, issues that were then under dispute and under negotiation. This action was almost certainly done with the approval of the Attorney General and the awareness of President Biden.
This follows previous incidents where heavily armed federal agents were sent to arrest supporters and confidants of the former President who were already in negotiations with the DOJ over the issues in dispute.
The IRS has a past history of (Lois Lerner) discriminating against groups who opposed the Obama administration. With that history, and in light of yesterday’s raid, it’s not unreasonable to suspect that an expansion of the IRS will in fact be able to harass and intimidate citizens who hold “unapproved” views.
I believe that your obligation includes the protection of New Hampshire and ALL of her citizens from overreach by the Federal government. If you agree, you should vote against H.R. 5376, the “Inflation Reduction Act.”
